Meaker signs three-year deal with Surrey

Fast bowler Stuart Meaker has signed a new deal with Surrey keeping him at The Oval until the end of 2013.

Meaker, from Normandy CC, represented England age group sides throughout his development – including a trip to the Under-19 World Cup in 2008 – and will be hoping to push for a place in the England Performance Programme or Lions squad over the course of the 2011 season.

“Signing on with Surrey for the next three seasons gives me the best possible base to develop my skills and fulfil my ambitions of winning silverware and playing for England,” Meaker said. “The club is in a fantastic place at the moment and – with the depth of talent in our young squad – there is nowhere else I would rather be playing my cricket.”
