Eds Copleston elected new club captain
Eds Copleston has been elected as the new captain of the Old Cranleighan Cricket Club, succeeding Will Howard who stepped down after two years at the helm.
At a low-key AGM held on the patio of the OC Club at Thames Ditton, the only other change was the election of Rory Kennedy as the new social secretary.
Club secretary Jonathan Gates said: “The committee is very excited about Eds coming back to captain the club given that he has so much spare time to dedicate to the club and he marshals three vice captains - Tom Crump, Jack Scriven and Alan Cope - who will each run a couple of games themselves. Eds will be in touch soon with the fixtures and availability, he is also arranging for kit to be available online to order any time.”
Former captain Ed Henderson added: "The club owes Will Howard a great deal of thanks for putting his hand up at a time that no one else did and running the club successfully for two years often without the logistical back up that his predecessors have enjoyed. So thanks and well done to Will."
