Trower and Waters top the averages
The
season, especially the second half, was blighted by bad weather which meant
that four of the final five matches were scrapped. On the plus side, cricket week was largely
spared.
Only
three batsmen scored more than 200 runs, with Brad Scriven leading the way with
his two cricket-week hundreds. Ollie
Trower, who topped the averages, scored his second hundred while Bruno Broughton
scored his first. Eds Copleston,
restored to the captaincy, turned in some useful performances and was unlucky
to miss out on a hundred in the season finale.
No one
bowler stood out although Jack Horsey was the leading wicket taker with his
dogged perseverance in the week, often leading the attack while others nursed
hangovers. The evergreen Ed Henderson
was the only other seamer to feature, his seven wickets lifting him to eighth
in the all-time list.
